Upon the issue of whether the driver of a motor vehicle had the consent of the owner to operate the same at the time and place an accident occurred, any evidence tending to show the existence or extent of such consent is admissible, and a witness who heard the instructions of the owner, given to the operator at the time the latter took the motor vehicle, may testify as to what they were for the purpose of showing the extent of the consent given. Such instructions are not hearsay, but are part of the issue of consent and admissible as original evidence.
